Finding out More Thank you for your interest in raising money for the One to One Children's Fund by participating in a Charity Challenge. After reading our brochure or through this website, you should be sure whether this programme of challenges is for you. Expedition places are limited and allocated on a first come, first served basis, so if you would like to join an expedition, here's what to do: Step 1 - Registration Select one of the available challenges. You will then need to complete a registration form and return it to Charity Challenge. They will then seek written authorisation from the One to One Children's Fund, permitting you to raise funds in its name. Before applying, check the website or contact our office for the latest availability, costs, sponsorship levels, and departure dates. When completing the form, please take note of the following: General: Complete all of the fields on the Registration Form in block capitals, and where applicable, as it appears in your passport. Payment Options: Choose either "Payment Option One" or "Payment Option Two" from the payment options section on Page 1. Please note you cannot change your method of payment once registration is complete. Passport: Your passport must be valid for six months from the end of the expedition. If it has less than 6 months or has expired, please inform us in the passport section. In case the tour fills up, it is better to apply without this information than wait for a new passport. Payment Method: Cheques are payable to "Gane & Marshall - CC" (in pounds sterling ONLY). If paying by credit card, please add 2% to the Registration Fee and Insurance Premium. Declaration: Sign and date the declaration at the bottom of page two. Once registered, we provide you with in-depth expedition information, including a full daily itinerary, a country fact file, a question & answer sheet and a kit list. More general notes cover health, travel tips, responsible tourism and community support. We will confirm your successful registration within two weeks. If your chosen expedition is full, we will offer an alternative date for the same itinerary, an alternative itinerary, or a full refund of your registration fee. Step 2 - Fundraising / Expedition Preparation: We provide you with a list of notes and advice on starting a fitness-training programme. Raising your sponsorship is equally important. The One to One Children's Fund will help with fundraising ideas, and can provide literature that explains their projects and how your sponsorship will be used. This will help promote what you are doing to potential sponsors. Collected sponsorship should be sent directly to the One to One Children's Fund (with cheques made payable to "One to One Children's Fund"). Under Payment Option 2, you must send the One to One Children's Fund at least 80% of the minimum sponsorship (and pledges for the remaining 20%) eight weeks before your expedition departs. Until the One to One Children's Fund receives this sponsorship, your place on the Charity Challenge is not guaranteed. Once the One to One Children's Fund acknowledges receipt of your funds, the final details of the expedition will be sent to you. If you are paying the full cost (Payment Option 1), you will be invoiced for the balance of your expedition costs eight weeks before you are due to depart. Sponsorship should be sent directly to the charity, as and when you raise it. Step 3 - Participation Once the balance of your expedition costs has been paid, you will be sent all last minute arrangements, including where and when to meet. Please do not hesitate to contact the One to One Children's Fund (020 8343 4234) or Charity Challenge office (020 8557 0000) if you have any further questions.
